"Er is maar een ding voorspelbaar aan het werk van Barbara Rottiers: het is altijd verrassend. Ze jaagt ongegeneerd haar dromen na, maakt daarin geen compromissen. Eerst zijn die dromen woorden, later worden het tekeningen. En daarna wonderlijke auto’s. Of kinderboeken. Of documentaires. Maar wat Barbara ook maakt, ze maakt het nooit zomaar. Ze laat mensen nadenken. Over de schoonheid van een groot continent. Of over een kleine mus. Barbara weet wat ze doet en ze doet het gewoon ongelofelijk goed."

VERY GOOD NEWS! March 2019 'The drama of a common youth' available in stores! Autobiograhical graphic novel, everything inside is true! Learn more about my imagined but very realistic romance with Paul Mc Cartney etc. YES VERY GOOD NEWS INDEED!

For the last 15 years, Barbara Rottiers (based in Antwerp, Belgium) worked as a host for Belgian Radio 1 (VRT). She was the (co-)creator of radioshows like Bonnie & Dahlia, Songboek and Viva la vida.

Beside that she was a writer of children's books (f.e. Daddy's gone, in cooporation with the prison and prisoners of Mechelen, Lannoo publishers) and an enthousiastic reviewer of others'.

Africa has a big place in her heart and work. For that reason a Storysnapper was created, which made it to a weekly primetime episode in Iedereen Beroemd, één, VRT (TV).

For Belgian newspaper De Morgen she made a colllection of illustrated columns.

Currently she works on Seeds, a webdocu, and Scribble your story, an international challenge for graphic journalism. Muntpunt in Brussels is one of the vibrant places she really likes to work with as a host for their events.

Barbara has a master degree in audiovisual arts (RITS, Brussels) and improved her illustration skills at SVA, NY.

You can contact her for all kind of wild creative ideas, illustrations, workshops, presentations and voice work. And to save the world of course.
